Kristine Keren & Marian Keren

We often forget not all of us have the luxury of being ourselves, that being yourself sometimes means that you can be persecuted and even killed. Jonathan & Daniel got together with their grandparents Marian & Kristine’s in August 2022 and talked about how being Jewish was terrifying for them and how they pretended not to be Jewish in order to survive the war. 

They shared the story of how after surviving they moved to Israel, where they felt free to be themselves again, and reconnect with their religion and culture.
